FESTIVAL & PERFORMANCE CONDITIONS

DB-LIMIT

There is a dB restriction by law in Switzerland: The law allows a maximum of 100dB measured over an hour at the most exposed point of the venue. (i.e. where the audience stands closest to the P.A.) The 100 dB rule has to be strictly adhered to. Any costs resulting from the dB(A) limit not to be respected by the artists FOH engineer, shall be paid by the artist. There have been fines of over 20'000.00 Swiss francs for just 2 dB over the limit! A dB meter is installed at the FOH position.

Lasers and Pyro effects

We understand the desire for shows with effects. However, these are not good at all for the natural environment around the Openair Gampel.

Therefore, confetti and pyro effects will ONLY be allowed for co-headliners and headliners, which must be biodegradable and approved by the authorities. One must basically assume that fireworks of all kinds will be banned by the authorities anyway because of drought.

If you are a headlining or co-headlining act and you want to use Pyro & SFX: No lasers or Pyro effects are to be used by the artist without written approval of the local authorities. Please inform us in due time, so we can obtain a license.

Wireless Frequencies

Any radio communication system using the frequency spectrum up to 3000 GHz will require a license by the OFCOM (Federal Office of Communications). The application form can be sent to you upon request.

Visas

The artist shall inform the promoter 8 weeks prior to the event if a member of the touring party requires a Visa. The artist further informs the promoter where the letter of invitation shall be sent. If a Visa is denied due to the late arrival of such information or any other reason beyond the control of the promoter, the responsibility shall lie solely with the artist.

Withholding Tax

The taxable amount for all foreign artists includes the total fee as well as all expenses related to the artist covered by the Festival

These include services such as (including but not limited to):
Catering (i.E. flat rates for catering costs specified by the Tax) // Backline // Hotel // Shuttles // SFX / Laser // Payment of withholding tax by the festival etc.

In order to determine the total taxable gross income, all artist related costs must be added to the fee BEFORE 50 % of the total can be deducted as free of tax production costs.

The latest on showday you will be provided with a full breakdown for all WHT related costs.

As soon as the tax is confirmed by the tax office Gampel, it will be transmitted to you electronically.

Please note that the tax receipts will be issued in the artist’s name.
If you need the receipt issued under the civic name please let us know well in advance. The tax office does not make any subsequent name changes.
